These terms govern your use of local-trades.ca and local-trades.us (the "Sites"), operated by Local Trades, a sole proprietorship of Dominique Legault in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada ("we," "us," "our"). By using the Sites you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Sites.

Use of the Sites. You may use the Sites for lawful purposes only. You agree not to misuse the Sites, interfere with their operation, attempt to gain unauthorized access, or use automated means to scrape or collect data from them without our permission.

The trades directory. The Sites include a directory of trades businesses compiled from public sources. We work to keep listings accurate, but we do not guarantee that any listing is complete, current, or error-free. A listing is not an endorsement, and the inclusion or verification of a business is not a warranty of that business's work, licensing, or conduct. You are responsible for your own due diligence before hiring any business. If you own a listed business, you may request corrections or removal by contacting us.

Contacting you. When you submit a contact form, you authorize us to contact you by email, phone, or text message about your inquiry and our services. Standard message and data rates may apply to any text messages.

Intellectual property. The Sites and their content, excluding third-party business information and marks, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute our content without permission.

Third-party links. The Sites may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, products, or practices of those sites.

Disclaimers. The Sites and all content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Sites will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the Sites or your reliance on any directory listing or other content.

Indemnity. You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim arising out of your misuse of the Sites or your violation of these terms.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of British Columbia.

Changes to these terms. We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new effective date.
